Institutional Development Plan
Short Term Plan
Academic Excellence & Curriculum Enhancement
Since affiliated colleges follow a university curriculum, the focus should be on Value Addition.
- Add-on/Certificate Courses: Introduce industry-relevant kits (Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, Soft Skills).
- Pedagogical Shifts: Move from rote learning to Experiential Learning (Case studies, field visits, and project-based learning).
- Academic Flexibility: Prepare for the implementation of the Multiple Entry and Exit system.
- Faculty Development: Mandate annual FDPs (Faculty Development Programs) and encourage PhD completions.
Research, Innovation, and Extension
This is often the weakest link in affiliated colleges. The IDP must address this systematically.
- Research Seed Money: Allocate a budget to fund small-scale faculty research projects.
- Incentive Policy: Provide financial rewards for publishing in Scopus or Web of Science indexed journals.
- Extension Activities: Strengthen the NSS/NCC units to adopt local villages for social impact projects.
Infrastructure & Learning Resources
Modernizing the physical and digital environment is crucial for student retention.
- ICT Integration: Convert standard classrooms into Smart Classrooms.
- Library Digitalization: Expand access to e-resources like N-LIST, DELNET, and NDLI.
- Green Campus Initiatives: Solar power installation, rainwater harvesting, and waste management systems.
- Laboratories: Upgrade equipment to match current industry standards.
Student Support & Progression
- Placement Cell: Shift from a "job fair" model to a year-round "career counseling" model.
- Alumni Engagement: Formalize an Alumni Association to help with internships and endowments.
- Mental Health: Establish a dedicated counseling center for student well-being.
- Bridge Courses: Programs for first-generation learners to bridge the gap between school and college-level rigor.
Governance & Leadership (Short Term)
- IQAC Strengthening: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell should lead the "Quality Culture" rather than just being a documentation body.
Financial Sustainability (Short Term)
- Resource Mobilization: Diversify income through consultancy services, corporate training, and alumni donations.
Mid Term Planning
- Research, Innovation, and Extension: Incubation Center – Create a "Startup Cell" to encourage student entrepreneurship.
- Governance & Leadership: Decentralization – Empower HoDs (Heads of Departments) with financial and administrative powers for departmental activities.
- E-Governance: Implement an ERP system for admissions, attendance, and examinations.
Long Term Planning
- Financial Sustainability: Corpus Fund – Establish a long-term fund to ensure institutional stability during lean periods.
